Cllr Caillian Ellis said that, “while Leitrim County Council had identified a solution to this problem, planning had not been lodged as the proposal is still going through the consultancy stage”.

It is understood that planning will be lodged for the works at the end of this month.

“It is disappointing that this hasn’t progressed further. I understand that these proposals have to go through the consultancy stage but surely the excellent work carried out in relation to this by Leitrim County Council engineering staff should have been sufficient,” he said.
