The closing date for entries for the 50th BT Young Scientist & Technology Exhibition is on October 2.
To date BT has provided over €400,000 in financial aid, of which schools in Leitrim have received over €12,000, dedicated to travel and accommodation, to help students across Ireland compete.
Edel McPhelim, a teacher at St. Clare’s Comprehensive School which has received over €5,650 in financial support from BT said: “The BT Young Scientist and Technology Exhibition is one of the highlights of our academic calendar. Our school has a proud history of success at the RDS and this grant scheme is a real help to us in getting our students to the competition. Every year I am more impressed by the wealth of talent among our young people and I am delighted that students from our school have the privilege of meeting their peers and accomplished academics from the world of science, research and technology. I would encourage any students and teachers, interested in participating, to get thinking of an idea and to enter a project.”
The exhibition will take place in the RDS, Dublin from January 8-11 2014. www.btyoungscientist.com.
