The HSE has apologised to the family of Dhara Kivlehan, Dromahair who died after giving birth at Sligo General Hospital three years ago.

The HSE has apologised to the family of Dhara Kivlehan, Dromahair who died after giving birth at Sligo General Hospital three years ago.

29 year old Dhara died after developing pre-eclampsia and a related condition in 2010. The High Court heard she did not receive the appropriate specialist medical treatment while at Sligo General Hospital. She died a number of days later in Belfast. Judge Mary Irvine criticised the delay by the HSE in admitting liability. She approved a settlement for €790,000.
