Sean Quinn’s name has been removed from his former empire, the new management have renamed the manufacturing Group: Aventas Group.
It is an end of an era for the community as the company’s final link to the Quinn family is removed, the giant Q over the group’s Headquarters in Derrylin was removed last Saturday, after the new name announcement on Friday evening.
Commenting on the change, Group Chief Executive, Paul O’Brien, said, “We are well into our third year since our Group changed ownership and we have decided that the time is right to rebrand our business.
While respecting the achievements and heritage of the past, we have chosen a name, Aventas Group, which puts a greater emphasis on looking to the future. Whilst our Group brand name and logo have changed, it is very much business as usual for our divisions, their management teams and our people as we continue to deliver quality products and services to our customers.”
The newly named Aventas Group includes glass, plastics, packaging, construction (cement, tarmac, blocks, tiles and insulation) and radiator divisions.
But that wasn’t the only change mooted at the group, last week employees were informed that they are in discussions to merge their transport fleet and facilities with CEVA a logistic company which operates in the UK and Ireland.
The move according to the group spokesperson is to “improve our internal fleet’s efficiency and utilisation.”
The group did not make it clear if the merger will effect any jobs at the company.
