The Christmas in Carrick Committee have had their little elves working hard to come up with an exciting array of events over the Christmas period. .
Santa has heard about the end of our Carrick on Shannon 400 celebrations and will be arriving in the Market Yard at 3.30pm on Sunday 8th December to help us start the final celebration of the year.
He will turn on our new “Green” Christmas Lights at 4pm and will be looking forward to seeing all the boys and girls in Santa’s Hut.
A great afternoon of Music with DJ Dave, Dance with Sean Nós ar an tSionnan and Victoria Walker Dancers , Storytelling and Face Painting.
The Christmas Markets will take place on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th December from 12 noon in The Market Yard, Murtagh’s Courtyard and The Dock.
A fantastic weekend of shopping is in store with markets that boast the best of Food, Crafts and Floral Goods.
The Ice Rink which was such a big hit last year will be back but much larger and there will be a sponsored Polar Plunge in aid of Special Olympics Connacht.
Murtagh’s Courtyard will also be having markets on Friday 22nd, Saturday 21st and Sunday, 22nd December.
Think local when buying your Christmas gifts this year. Carrick has an abundance of boutiques, galleries and specialist shops as well as unique craft and gift stores.
A free mini bus collection service is available from Carrick on Shannon Train station into the town centre on Saturday 7th, 14th and 21st December courtesy of Carrick Taxis & Minibus Service.
Flyers with full details of Christmas events will be distributed to local schools and will be available in retail outlets in the town.
