Fine Gael Drumshanbo based Councillor, Enda McGloin, has been informed that works will begin early next month on the provision of a new footpath along the Carrick Road, from Mc Cormack’s old Garage to the town.
A Council spokesperson said a local environment service contractor will be employed by the local authority to suction out many of the storm water drains that have led to localised road flooding and excess water ‘sitting’ on footpaths.
“I am delighted that the Carrick Road footpaths work will commence shortly as this route is extensively used by people who use this pathway which of course leads directly to our local amenity centre at Acres,” said Cllr McGloin.
