The community of Jamestown are celebrating the redevelopment of their village along with the launch of their new five year Tidy Towns plan on Friday, April 25 at 8pm.

The community of Jamestown are celebrating the redevelopment of their village along with the launch of their new five year Tidy Towns plan on Friday, April 25 at 8pm.

Jamestown Community Council are hosting the official opening of a number of redevelopments including the new road into the village from Carrick-on-Shannon, cobbled footpaths, lanterns and ancillary work.

The works which were completed over two years were finaced by fundraising and grants from Leitrim County Council and Leitrim Development company. Leitrim Cathaoirleach Sean McDermott will officially open the works as well as launch the new five year Tidy Town plan for Jamestown.

The official event will be held in the Community centre behind the church and there will be a marquee where the village social event will be held. The event will include a photo slideshow which includes over 1,000 photos of events and activities over the years.

There will also be home made food, art and craft stalls as well as music and entertainment on the evening.
