Fine Gael TD for Sligo/ North Leitrim, John Perry, has announced that a Stakeholder Forum for the Action Plan for Jobs Border (North West) Region, will take place in the Sligo Park Hotel tomorrow, Thursday, March 26 at 1.30pm.
“Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton is leading a new initiative to develop and implement Regional Action Plans (REA) for Jobs throughout the country.”
Deputy Perry added, “The national Action Plan for Jobs has overseen the creation of over 90,000 news jobs across the country since its launch in February.
“While Sligo has seen some benefit, with the Live Register decreasing by 12%, there is still a lot more we can do to create employment in the county and wider region.
“The REA for Jobs process will identify each region’s strengths, competitive advantages and areas of opportunity, and produce an action-oriented plan to support enterprise growth and jobs in the region.
“I encourage local business people to attend this meeting and get involved in improving Sligo’s employment prospects.
“We need to work together collectively to do everything we can to ensure the economic recovery benefits Sligo further.”
