Chris O’Dowd may be uneasy with his new ‘sex symbol status’ but he has certainly earned his title as Boyle Ambassador.
The writer, actor and comedian made sure to promote his hometown of Boyle, Co Roscommon to more than 8 million American viewers last week when he appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres’ US Talk Show.
O’Dowd talked about movies, upcoming roles and his fear of women! He said “Women are terrifying, scare and alluring, which is a combination that never works well with me.”
But after all the fluffy talk, O’Dowd got down to business, inviting Ellen to visit Boyle. He said “I’m from this beautiful town called Boyle int he West of Ireland. It’s a delight. I’m going to drag you over with me Ellen.”
“It’s a bit of a trek from here, but it’s a lovely little place. It’s a delight.”
