BBBS (Big Brothers Big Sisters) is a mentoring programme that matches an adult volunteer to a young person (10-18 years) and they are currently looking for volunteers in the north west region. The basic idea of BBBS is that a friendship will form between the young person and adult volunteer, which will promote the positive development of the young person.
The programme is operated by Foróige, the National Youth Development Organisation and is running in Ireland since 2001. If you are interested in volunteering and making a difference in the life of a young person, contact Project Officer Noreen O’Callaghan on 086-3880738. Volunteers who apply to the programme will be screened and if accepted onto the programme will receive training and ongoing support from professional staff.
