Local gardai have reported very few problems despite the massive numbers which came to Carrick-on-Shannon in particular following the release of the Leaving Cert results last week.
A spokesperson for Carrick-on-Shannon Gardai said that despite the huge influx of people into the town last Wednesday night, visitors were “on the whole fairly well behaved”.
Gardai had brought in extra manpower on the night and similar moves had been put in place in Ballinamore.
However there were only very minor problems recorded in Carrick-on-Shannon and no issues arose in Ballinamore during the celebrations.
