No mamography service for Sligo till 2014

There will be no mammography services restored to Sligo General Hospital until at least January, 2014.

There will be no mammography services restored to Sligo General Hospital until at least January, 2014.

That was the outcome of a meeting on Monday, October 22 between Sligo-North Leitrim Deputy Tony McLoughlin, and members of the Save our Cancer Services campaign. McLoughlin told the campaigners that Minister James Reilly, has assured that the funding for the restoration remains. But radiographer staffing issues means it will be 2014 before it is operational.
