Sligo/Leitrim Community and disability Speechand Language Therapy Services are complying with the national target of seeing all clients within four months for initial assessment say the HSE.

Waiting lists for assessment are cleared three times annually in February, June and October said a spokesperson for the HSE.

“As of September 4 there are 162 clients waiting for initial assessment in Sligo/Leitrim. They will be seen in October. 52 of these clients are waiting in Leitrim for October assessment. No client is waiting over 12 months for an initial assessment,” stressed the spokesperson.

“Following assessment clients are prioritised for treatment according to need and readiness for intervention.”
