Gardai are investigating burglaries which occurred in Manorhamilton .

Two houses were broken into at McDermott Terrace, Manorhamilton in separate incidents on Saturday evening last at around 8pm.

The extent and value of items taken in the break-ins is unclear at this stage.

Gardai are appealing for any witnesses to the incidents to contact Manorhamilton Garda Station on (071) 9855014.

Tool theft

Boyle gardai are looking for information on the theft of quantity of tools from a factory in Rooskey.

It is understood that the theft occurred some time bteween October 2 and 6 when the tools were taken from a store at the former Glanbia factory site.

Quad stolen

A quad bike valued at around €7,000 has been stolen from a farmyard in Elphin.

The black Suzuki King Quad 400cc ws stolen from the property at Lurgan, Elphin, some time between 6pm on Saturday and 9am on Monday last.

Diesel theft

An investigation is underway following the theft of 100L of diesel from a school bus in Keadue.

The diesel valued at €150 was taken when the vehicle was parked in the Breanletter area.

Gardai are asking people to remain vigilant about thefts of fuel from commercial vehicles in particular and also to be aware of thefts of home heating oil.

Remember to report any supsicous activity in your locality immediately to gardai.
