The Old Stables Self Catering Apartments were officially opened by the Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan situated at The Old Rectory Bed and Breakfast in Fenagh Glebe, Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim.
The self catering accommodation has been completed to meet the demand for family accommodation by a German tour operator who provide eco holidays worldwide and have used The Old Rectory as their Irish base for the past 12 years.
The apartments are finished to a high standard and have a rainwater harvesting system, solar panels, are highly insulated and have all A rated appliances. The Minister spoke about the project and the importance of the tourism industry and encouraging and supporting existing businesses to expand in this economy. He was impressed by the standard of the work and the preservation of such a beautiful old building. Patrick and Julie Curran would like to thank all their friends and family who came on the day and those who sent their good wishes. Also all the people involved in the project especially the funders, Leitrim Development Company, who helped and encouraged us along the way.
