The organisers of the Ridge to Bridge Cycle from Drumquin, County Tyrone to Battlebridge in County Leitrim have said they are overwhelmed by the magnificent response the event received.
The 65 mile cycle which took place last month, raised £9,000 in aid of the Northwest Hospice in Sligo, the Horizon West Children’s Hospice in Enniskillen and the Blackrock clinic in Dublin. Over 120 cyclists, including members of the Leitrim Cycling Club, made the journey from Drumquin to Battlebridge via Enniskillen. Refreshments were served at a number of stop off points along the way. Arriving at their destination, the cyclists them enjoyed a barbeque at Beirne’s Pub and Restaurant of Battlebridge.
The organisers have thanked all who supported this event, in particular all of their sponsors in the Leitrim area. They have also passes on their congratulations to all of the prize-winners in their raffle which took place on Saturday night and to those who guessed the correct model and weight of the car sponsored by Leitrim Auto Recyclers.
A full list of sponsors and prize-winners can be seen on Beirne’s of Battlebridge’s Facebook page.
