Ireland West Airport Knock are delighted to celebrate the launch of Ryanair’s 13th destination from the airport to Malaga in Spain.
The launch of Ryanairs new weekly service to Malaga is welcome news for holidaymakers in the West, North West and Midlands regions of Ireland and brings to six the number of sun destinations now available from Ireland West Airport Knock with the new service generating an additional 13,000 passengers through the airport in 2013.
Weekly flights to popular hotspots such as Alicante, Faro, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote and Tenerife are already proving hugely popular with holidaymakers from the region and the addition of a new weekly service to Malaga in the Costa Del Sol provides even more choice for those looking for some badly needed sunshine.
Malaga is a fantastic destination for people of all ages offering year round sunshine, glorious beaches and picturesque villages. The Costa Del Sol, one of Europes most popular resorts, is within easy reach of a wide range of historic tourist attractions from the impressive Ronda, the spectacular cities of Malaga and Seville and quaint villages with white washed houses. When the sun goes down there is a wide variety of shops, bars and restaurants to choose from.
Ryanair will operate the Malaga service with weekly flights every Thursday, adding a second weekly flight on a Sunday for the months of June, July & August.
Welcoming the latest expansion by Ryanair, Joe Gilmore, Managing Director, Ireland West Airport Knock, said “We are delighted to welcome a new service to Malaga with Ryanair as we expand our range of scheduled services to now include the popular Costa Del Sol.
“Last year over 100,000 passengers flew on Ryanairs services to Spain and Portugal, further strengthening our position as the airport of choice for holidaymakers in the West, North West and Midlands regions and we have no doubt the new Malaga service will prove hugely popular.
The Airport continues to attract new destinations and provide more choice and value for money for the people in the region and this latest expansion from Ryanair underlines the airline’s continued confidence in our airport and the regions we serve.”
Fares are currently on sale on ryanair.com to Malaga from just €19.99 one way excluding taxes and charges.
