Walk for Talk: A Fundraising 6K Walk for suicide awareness and prevention will take place from Cloone GAA Park to Aughavas GAA Park on Saturday 27 July at 2pm. Registration will take place at Cloone Park at 1pm. All monies raised will go to two worthwhile charities STOP suicide and Aware. Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock: The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock will take place on Sunday 1 September 2013. Ceremonies begin at 2. 30 p.m. with the Anointing of the Sick and Mass will be celebrated at 3pm.
Mohill Basketball Camp: Mohill Basketball Camp will be held on 15-19 July in Mohill Sports Complex. 6-12 year olds from 10am-1pm and 12-18 year olds from 2-5pm. Information from Sarah 086 3546930. Basketball each for participants, places are limited so early booking is advisable.
Aughavas Old Cemetery: FÁS are seeking to identify graves and headstones in the Old Cementery. A number of maps are left at the back of the church and parishioners are requested to identify the graves.

Taispeántas Samhraidh 2013: The Annual Art Competition will take place in Teach Dúchais Drumeela this Friday 12 July at 8.30pm. The exhibition will be opened by Julie Martin, Art teacher, Carrigallen Vocational School who will share her expertise in the world of art. There will be a music recital on the night featuring harp, piano, flute and singing and refreshments will be served. Everybody welcome. Works of art in any medium are welcome for display, and will be taken into Teach Dúchais tomorrow, Thursday 11 July from 6-9pm. There will be an outdoor painting workshop on Saturday July 13. Cloone Homecoming and Schools ReUnion: At the Cloone Homecoming and Schools reunion draw held on the 29 June last, in Creegans, the following were the prize-winners: First Prize: Two tickets in the Sir Alex Ferguson stand to a Man United fixture in the 2013/14 season plus a three course meal for two, sponsored by Margaret McManus/Mitchell. Winner: James Moran, Clooneen, Cloone. Second Prize: Two tickets to Jessie J. at the O2 in October, sponsored by Eugene Mitchell, Keeldra, Cloone. Winner: Conor Tiernan c/o Shane Tiernan, Cloone. Third Prize: 50 Euro sponsored by Cloone Homecoming and Schools re-union - Winner: Deirdre Smith, Longford. Fourth Prize: Bottle of Irish Whiskey sponsored by Charlie and Mary Mitchell,Streamstown - Winner: Daniel Jones, Sligo. Fifth Prize: Bottle of wine, sponsored by Oliver O’Higgins, Cloone - Winner: Lorraine Brennan, Cloone. An excellent night was enjoyed by all present and the Chairman,Seamus Tiernan thanked the sponsors of the prizes and everybody else who helped to make the event such a success.
