Bingo: Bingo is now in Carrigallen on Sunday nights with large prizes that include one thousand Euro on the 2nd last page, €180 on the other pages. Also €300 on the Mini Book. Usual bus service applies. It’s hoped that more locals will attend which hasn’t been the case recently.
Keep Away: North Longford hooligans have been told to keep well away from these areas due to their behaviour in recent months. These fellows don’t go fishing or swimming, only causing trouble and frightening young girls out walking which was recently happening.
Large Crowds Attend Festivals: Arva Shows and the Carrigallen Summer Festival attracted good crowds and holiday makers had an enjoyable week. The next excitement will be shopping for back to school items.
Drumlish Flowers Vandalised: The beautiful flowers pots and boxes that were placed on the approach roads in Drumlish were destroyed last week by people who had some sort of grudge. The flowers and pots on the Drumlish/Arva road were admired by many people but they will be replaced immediately and the town brought back to its former glory. The same thing happen in Arva recently. It seems to be a virus nowadays hitting every week.
Water Shortage: Water is beginning to be a problem at the moment despite the heavy showers of rain. There will be cut-offs in supply shortly if things don’t improve. Rural districts are worst hit and the old spring wells have been out of use for years which is a pity. But these wells could make a comeback.
