The town of Manorhamilton will be shining this Christmas, as the Manorhamilton Enterprise Forum CLG have secured funding for new festival lighting for the town.

After a few years when there has been a lack of Christmas feel to the town this project was developed to bring back the Christmas cheer.

Manorhamilton Enterprise Forum were successful in an application for the Rural Development LEADER Funding Programme which gave a grant of €29,210.32, which gave 50% of the total cost of the installation.

Philip Rooney, Chairperson of Manorhamilton Enterprise Forum, said, “This will give the town a much needed boost and will hopefully bring more people into Manorhamilton not only during the Christmas period, but during the rest of the year.
The Manorhamilton Enterprise Forum are committed to putting not only the town of Manorhamilton, but the whole of North Leitrim back on the map.”

The work will begin on the lighting system within the next few weeks to have them ready for the Christmas period. The launch of the lights will be celebrated in the town with an event held on the Main Street, details of which will be coming soon.
