Leitrim Animal Welfare is appealing to the Leitrim community for help in identifying two Springer Spaniel dogs that sought refuge at a house in the Bornacoola area on December 23.
It appears the dogs have been abandoned.
A kind family initially took them in and attempted to find their owner, but since Friday, December 27, Leitrim Animal Welfare has been caring for the pair.
One of the Springer Spaniels is currently receiving treatment for an eye infection and a head wound. Leitrim Animal Welfare have said they are both safe and warm.
While one of the dogs is microchipped, the charity reports that the chip is unregistered.
Leitrim Animal Welfare is urging anyone with information about these dogs to come forward.
“Let’s make sure they get the second chance they deserve, especially during this season of kindness and giving,” the charity shared on Facebook.
If you have any details about the two Spaniels, please contact Leitrim Animal Welfare on 085 864 5366.
