Leitrim County Council is reminding local businesses and residents that the deadline to apply for the Mohill Painting Scheme 2025 is fast approaching. Applications must be submitted by March 27 to secure financial support for painting and enhancing the exterior of properties in the town centre.

The Mohill Painting Scheme 2025 aims to improve the aesthetics of Mohill, creating a more vibrant and welcoming environment for both the local community and visitors. 

This initiative offers financial aid for property owners to enhance the facades of businesses and residential properties within the designated town centre area. 

Successful applicants can receive financial assistance of up to 80 percent of project costs, capped at €2,000 per property. Eligible expenses include preparation work such as power washing and the removal of unnecessary signage, flagpoles, and wires.

Expert advice is also available to assist with colour selection and aesthetic improvements that complement the town’s character.

Leitrim County Council encourages adjacent property owners to collaborate on their applications to achieve a cohesive visual outcome.

The scheme, which opened on February 28, will close on March 27, with decision notification issued on April 23.All projects must be completed, and claims submitted by September 24.

Applicants are required to contribute a minimum of 20 percent of the project costs as match funding. Successful applicants will receive grant payments directly to their bank accounts upon submission of proof of expenditure.

Applications must be submitted on the application form to mohillstreets@leitrimcoco.ieApplicants should review the map of eligible areas before making a submission.
