A planning application has been submitted to Leitrim County Council for the construction of a new parish centre in Mohill.

The application, filed by Father Nigel Charles, proposes the development of a single storey parish centre on Chapel Lane.

The plans include a meeting room, a tea room, toilets and administration office within the proposed parish centre.

Additionally, the development seeks to make alterations to the existing store, including changing part of the space from a storage area to a plant room, boiler house, and a subdivided storage area.

The project also outlines necessary site works, service connections, and the creation of a new gateway onto Chapel Lane.

The site for the proposed parish centre is located adjacent to St Patrick’s Church in Mohill, a protected structure.

Leitrim County Council is expected to make a decision on the application by May 28.
