Leitrim councillor Paddy Farrell stated that he has received "numerous complaints from the bus drivers over the summer that when drive in to park in the town centre (Flynn's Field) car park, the bus spaces are occupied by cars. What can we do to address this issue?"
He was told that parking a private car in a predetermined bus stop or bus set down is illegal under the Roads Traffic Act. We will advise the traffic wardens to monitor and act accordingly.

He said he has had "several reps on this over the summer where buses pull in to pick up someone or take a break but there are cars parked in the bus spaces. They do need to be manned and kept free."
