Nineteen-year-old Mohill artist DJ K Fusion releases his third album Puzzles, blending emotion and AI-assisted creativity inspired by his experience as an autistic musician.

Nineteen-year-old Mohill musician Keanu McGee, and also known as ‘DJ K Fusion’, has released his third album titled Puzzles.

This album comes as he continues to develop his passion for music independently, using AI as a tool to support his creative process.

The album explores themes of emotion, understanding and perspective, with DJ K Fusion drawing on his experiences as an autistic artist. “I’ve been making music for six years and this is my third album now. It’s crazy how long I’ve been doing it,” he said.

He explained that he has always had a strong connection to music, noting that his family also share a deep interest in it, meaning he grew up with music as a significant part of his life.

“I downloaded an app on my phone one day and that’s how it really started. I found out about all these other tools I could use to make music,” he explained.

Over the past six years, DJ K Fusion has developed his production and recording skills, building a style that blends emotional depth with modern influences. His aim is to create music that connects with listeners and reflects real-life experiences.

DJ K Fusion is autistic, and while he is clearly passionate about music and creating beats, he can sometimes find lyric writing challenging. He uses AI to assist with this aspect, saying AI is going to “reimagine everything.”

Working independently, he uses FS Studio and Suno AI in his creative process. For DJ K Fusion, making music is an outlet for self-expression. “People with autism express emotions in a different way, I find that making music helps me get that out there,” he said.

Not limiting himself to one genre, he explores different styles depending on what he feels inspired to create at the time. “It’s whatever I feel sounds right. It begins with a sound. I’d come up with a melody and then I would structure it from there,” he said.

‘Puzzles’ is a deeply personal release for him, inspired by the rainbow puzzle piece often used as a symbol for autism. Some of his favourite artists include Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber.

While acknowledging that “getting out there” is one of the biggest challenges when creating music independently, DJ K Fusion remains determined to continue pursuing his goals and breaking through in the industry.

“I’d love to get everywhere, it’s my dream to be a musician and be like all the big artists out there,” he explained. DJ K Fusion has previously been featured on Charlie McGettigan’s show on Shannonside, where he showcased his music.

Outside of music, he is also preparing for the Irish Wheelchair Association’s Fitness Inclusion Games in Dublin on May 7. “I’ve been training an awful lot, I’m looking forward to it.”

Although the new album has just been released, DJ K Fusion is already working on his next project, which will be a deluxe version of Puzzles. When people hear his music, he simply hopes they enjoy it. “All I really hope is that people enjoy it. I make it for people to enjoy,” he said.

For young people like himself who dream of creating music, he offered simple advice: “Don’t give up and keep doing what you’re doing. Keep pushing yourself out there.”
