On Saturday, October 27 at the Mohill Fire Brigade station firefighters and friends will hold a Car Wash in aid of Andrew O’Malley.
As first responders, our Fire Fighters witness many events that remind them of the fragility of life and how lives can be changed in an instance. They also know that the kind and compassionate people of Mohill and the surrounding community are always eager to help and lend a hand to those less fortunate.
In previous years their car wash days raised in the region of €20,000 supporting Hospice, the Irish Cancer Society and individuals facing difficult health challenges. Their efforts have been so successful because of you and your generosity.
This year, their intention is to raise funds for Andrew aged 32, as he faces a long, gruelling and expensive path to recovery from debilitating injuries he received in a tragic accident. Now a quadriplegic Andrew can only move his head and shoulder. He has been told that he will not regain any further movement in the rest of his body.
Take advantage of this Annual Fund Raising event to do your bit. Washing will commence at 9am. Volunteers will be helping so you won’t be kept waiting. In addition to helping Andrew you support will give the Firefighters the encouragement to continue with their charitable efforts in the years to come. Sadly, there will always be a need and we never know who is next.
