Bus stop in Leitrim with ‘nothing’ prompts call for shelter

A proposal to provide a bus shelter at Knocklongford in Mohill will be reviewed by Leitrim County Council.
A bus stop in Mohill will be assessed by Active Travel to determine its suitability for a shelter.
At the October meeting of Carrick-on-Shannon Municipal District, Cllr Irene Guckian-Rabbitte proposed that Leitrim County Council install a bus stop and a proper bus shelter at Knocklongford on the Ballinamore road in Mohill, on either side of the road.
The motion was seconded by Cllr Cormac Flynn, who noted that there are “underused bus stops with seating and really busy bus stops like Knocklongford with nothing.”
In response, the Roads department confirmed: “The Active Travel Department will assess and review the proposed location to determine its suitability for a bus stop and shelter.”
