Motorists are being advised to slow down after torrential rains overnight left many roads flooded this morning.

There are reports of localised flooding on regional and secondary roads around Carrigallen, Cloone, Ballinamore and Mohill this morning and further reports are emerging about flooded roads in the north of the county, in particular in the Manorhamilton and Glenfarne areas.

Motorists are advised to slow down. If you encounter an impassable road do not enter the water as you may not know the depth. Be aware that driving through partial flooding will impact your ability to control your vehicle and the water spray could also cause issues for oncoming traffic.

We will update you as more information becomes available.
