Met Eireann issues snow and ice warning Leitrim

Motorists are being advised to slow down and allow themselves plenty of time to get to their desitnation as Met Éireann remind people that a Status Orange Snow and Ice Warning still remains in place for counties Leitrim, Donegal, Cavan, Monaghan,  Longford, Mayo and Sligo.

The warning is active until 6pm this evening and, with plenty of snow still on regional roads in particular, drivers are asked to proceed with care.

Before you set off our your journey remove all snow and ice from the windscreen, back and side windows of your vehicle. Make sure all snow and ice is also removed from the roof to stop it slipping down onto your windscreen and obscuring your vision while travelling.

Don't forget to clear off wing mirrors and your lights as well.

Travel safely everyone!
