Met Éireann is warning people to expect flooding and dangerous driving conditions this week as stormy weather hits Ireland.
The weather service released an advisory alert on Storm Ciarán this afternoon (October 29), forecasting heavy showers from Monday (October 30) to Thursday (November 2) this week.
Falls of heavier rain and strong winds will hit the country on Wednesday and Thursday, with current indications suggesting Munster and Leinster will be the worst hit, with flooding likely.
People are advised to be wary of saturated soils and high river levels, as well as difficult driving conditions.
The alert is in place from this afternoon (Sunday October 29) to 11.30pm on Thursday (November 2).
