GoFundMe campaign set up to pay for costs of bringing Irish musician home for funeral

A fundraising campaign has been launched to help pay for the cost of the the return of musician Kevin Ryan who died in Tenerife to his native Mayo for his funeral.

Kevin was a native of Crossboyne, Claremorris, and Berlin Germany. He died tragically in Tenerife.

Those behind the GoFundMe campaign said they wanted to send: "a heartfelt message to everyone who was lucky enough to know Kevin, and to be a part of the beautiful community that he made wherever he went. We hope you’re doing okay, given this awful loss. Kevin will be so terribly missed".

They said they wanted to let people know about this fundraising effort they have set up to help Kevin's family with the significant cost of his final journey - his repatriation from Tenerife back to Ireland and his beautiful send-off in Crossboyne.

"We know that times are tight, so if you are in a position to donate, please know that it would be most appreciated and helpful," they said.

The campaign is being organised by Wallis Bird and Friends. Irish musician Wallis Bird has lived in Berlin for over 10 years.
