A man from Carndonagh is to stand trial after he broke into a house armed with a hurl.
Jonathan McLaughlin appeared at Buncrana District Court where a book of evidence was served on him. The 42-year-old is charged that on September 29, 2019, at Oakgrove, Millfield, Buncrana he did commit a burglary and at the time he had a weapon of offence, the hurl.
Garda Sergeant Sean McDaid told the court that the Director of Public Prosecutions had directed that the case be heard at the next sitting of Letterkenny Circuit Court which begins on April 23. Judge Eiteain Cunningham read McLaughlin, of Glentogher, Carndonagh, the alibi warning. The accused man's solicitor, Mr Frank Dorrian, asked for one legal counsel to be assigned for the trial. McLaughlin was released on the same bail terms.
