Man, 30s, arrested after fatal crash between two lorries in Monaghan

A man, 30s, has been arrested following a fatal crash involving two lorries.

Gardaí investigating the fatal road traffic collision that occurred on Monday, November 6, 2023 on the R188 (between Cootehill and Rockcorry) in County Monaghan, where a man aged in his 40s was fatally injured, arrested a man this Wednesday morning, May, 15, 2024 in relation to this investigation.

The man was detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at a Garda Station in the Monaghan District. 

He has since been released without charge and a file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Investigations ongoing.
