A man has been died following an assault in Dublin.
Emergency services were called to the incident at a home in the Scribblestown area of Finglas shortly after 1am on Sunday.
A man in his 30s was found with serious injuries and treated at the scene before being taken by ambulance to Connolly Hospital
He was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.
The office of the State Pathologist was notified and a post-mortem examination is being arranged.
The scene was preserved for examination by the Garda Technical Bureau and a senior investigating officer has been appointed, with an incident room at Finglas Garda Station.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses, particularly those who were in the Scribblestown area between midnight and 1am.
Additionally, anyone with footage, including dashcam, from the area within the timeframe are asked to contact police.
