Locals were shocked after a house in Co Cork was hit by lightning during the thunderstorm on Sunday.
A house in Rossmore, Co Cork, was hit by lightning during the severe thunderstorm, before 9pm.
Five fire brigade units from Bandon Clonakilty and Dunmanway attended the scene of the incident.
No one was injured in the incident, but the lightning strike caused significant damage to the property.
Several lightning strikes were reported as the storm was intense in Cork and in certain parts of Limerick.
