Motorist dies in single-vehicle crash

A man has died in a car crash in Co Kerry.

Gardai are appealing for information after the single-vehicle collision at Keel in Ballyheigue on Sunday morning.

The driver, aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene and no other injuries were reported.

The road has been closed while forensic staff examine the scene of the crash, which is believed to have occurred at about 7.20am.

A garda spokeswoman said: “Any road users who may have camera footage – including dashcam – and were travelling in the area at the time of the incident between 6.30am and 7.30am today, are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.
