Parents could be eligible for boosts of €700 this back to school season.
A number of payments that could alleviate the cost associated with school are available to parents.
This September, they could get over €700 worth of financial help from the government.
The Free Education Scheme will provide free schoolbooks to Junior Cycle post-primary students from the upcoming academic year - and Junior Cycle books usually cost approximately €300.
Child Benefit will be paid at the start of September, a welcome €140 per child.
There is also an allowance for clothing and footwear, the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance, to help families with the cost of uniforms and shoes.
The rate is of €160 for children aged between 4 and 11, and of €285 for children aged 12 years and over.
