In a public notice, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says the Acctel 24V Vertex UTV - an Electric UTV ride on for children with LED lights and realistic sounds - is being recalled
With just 36 days to go to Christmas, Smyths Toys has announced it is recalling a popular product after safety concerns were identified.
In a public notice, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission says the Acctel 24V Vertex UTV - an Electric UTV ride-on for children with LED lights and realistic sounds - is being recalled.
"Due to an issue with the circuit board, the product can become hot and overheat causing the product to melt. If a user touches it, they may sustain burns," reads the notice.
The specific brand is Acctel and the model impacted by the recall is 236175. The barcode is 5060307678208.
According to the CCPC, there are approximately 61 affected products in the Republic of Ireland. The impacted products were available to buy between July 15 and October 21, this year.
Customers who purchased one of the UTVs are being advised to stop using the product, to keep it out of the reach of children and to unplug the battery.
