Appeals for help in locating missing 12-year-old Ava Farrell who was last seen in Neilstown, Dublin at approximately 3.40pm on Monday has been stood down, gardaí have confirmed.

When last seen, she was wearing a navy school jumper and tracksuit bottoms, a beige furry coat, and black and white Adidas shoes.

Gardaí confirmed there has been a positive outcome and that the search has now been stood down.

"Ava Farrell, aged 12 years who was reported missing from her home in Clondalkin, Dublin 22 since Monday, January, 20, has been located safe and well.

"No further action is required.

"We would like to thank the media and public for their assistance."
