A man has died and a woman has been injured in a road crash in Co Westmeath.
Two cars were involved in a collision on the N4 at Ballinalack at around 4.20pm on Wednesday afternoon.
Gardai said the male driver of one of the cars, a man in his 60s, was brought to the Midland Regional Hospital Mullingar, but later pronounced deceased.
They said the driver of the second car, a woman aged in her 60s, suffered serious injuries.
They said: “Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the area between 3.30pm and 4.30pm this afternoon, Wednesday July 9 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardai.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact Mullingar Garda Station on (044) 938 4000, the Garda confidential line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.”
