A man in his 40s has died in a crash involving two vans and a crane in Co Offaly.
Gardai are appealing for witnesses following the fatal multi-vehicle collision in Edenderry on Wednesday morning.
The incident happened on the R401 at Drumcooly at approximately 6.15am.
The driver of one of the vans, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man driving the other van, aged in his 30s, was taken to Midland Regional Hospital in Tullamore for treatment of non life-threatening injuries.
The road was closed pending examination by forensic investigators.
The Health and Safety Authority (HSA), which investigates work-related incidents, was notified and will conduct its own investigation.
Gardai are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to contact them.
