 MossEntials Irish Sea Moss Gel and Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel products were subject to recall as they were produced in an unregistered establishment which is not subject to official controls

ALERT: Food Safety Authority of Ireland recalls popular Irish brand food product

The Food Safety Authority of Ireland has recalled sea moss gel products because they were produced in an unregistered establishment.

On Monday December 8, the MossEntials Irish Sea Moss Gel and Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel products were subject to recall as they were produced in an unregistered establishment which is not subject to official controls.

Recall notices will be displayed at point-of-sale. 

The products below, all at 314g, were recalled as follows:

  • Moss Entials Wild Crafted Irish Sea Moss Gel Original
  • Moss Entials Wild Crafted Irish Sea Moss Gel Pineapple
  • Moss Entials Wild Crafted Irish Sea Moss Gel Strawberry
  • Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel Pineapple
  • Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel Passion Fruit
  • Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel Green Apple
  • Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel Mixed Berry
  • Sea Moss Sublime Sea Moss Gel Strawberry

The food was produced in an establishment that was not subject to official controls and as such it is not possible to confirm the food was manufactured in compliance with all relevant food safety legislation. Therefore, as a precaution the product is being recalled to ensure consumer safety.

Manufacturers, wholesalers, distributors, caterers and retailers are requested to remove the implicated products from sale and display recall notices at point-of-sale. Consumers are advised not to eat the implicated products.
