Gardaí have seized 15 e-scooters and four cars during what they dubbed an "Impound Party" as part of a crackdown on illegal and unsafe Irish road users.
In a tongue-in-cheek post shared on X, gardaí said the "guest list" to the "world's least popular 'Impound Party'" included "15 scooters that thought they were Ducatis" and "4 cars treating Insurance & NCTs like optional extras".
They warned that "fines and court dates" are now on the way, adding: "Drive legal, or walk home!"
In a separate update on the An Garda Síochána Facebook page, gardaí said the streets of Dublin 8 felt "a bit quieter" after the operation, again joking that officers had hosted the "world's least popular 'Impound Party'".
This time the "guest list" was expanded to include "15 e-scooters that were essentially low-flying aircraft", "4 cars that treat Insurance and NCTs like optional side quests", and "a few 'independent' learners who really should've brought a supervisor".

Gardaí also issued a warning to anyone tempted to chance their arm on the roads.
"If you're driving without insurance, a qualified passenger or a road-worthy ride, your 'scoot' through town might end in a 'tow' through town," the post said, adding: "Court dates incoming."
While some online users praised the seizure and the posts' humorous tone, others said more needed to be done.
One user commented: "The writer of that post should be promoted, great job!"
Another said: "Great start but you've a lot more to get, sick of them flying out in front of cars on main roads."
While a third wrote: "A wonderful party, I hope it will become a regular event at all stations great and small."
