Get those runners on because Aurivo’s For Goodness Shakes is the main sponsor of Sligo Athletics Clubs’ Streets of Sligo 5k Run 2018, and we want you to join us!
For Goodness Shakes will provide runners and walkers with products from its range of sports nutrition drinks at the finish line to support their recovery – what better incentive could you have?
The Streets of Sligo event takes place over the August bank holiday weekend, starting at 7pm on Saturday August 4, on Wine Street.
The race route through Sligo’s streets allows participants a unique opportunity to take over the roads, many of which will be shut to traffic for the duration of the event.
While open to participants at all levels, the flat course is ideally suited to beginners and more experienced runners who are looking to achieve a new personal best at the 5km distance.
Registration is only €15 per person and there will be chipped timing for all participants. Registration is open at https://www.njuko.net/streetsofsligo/select_competition
After the event, refreshments will be served at Lola Montez, which along with Amcor is part sponsor of the annual Streets of Sligo 5km.
Eoghan Sweeney, General Manager of Dairy Ingredients and Consumer Foods for Aurivo, said: “The Streets of Sligo 5K Run is the perfect fit for our sports nutrition range, which helps energise, repair and rebuild muscles after exercise. We are delighted to continue our relationship with Sligo Athletics Club and we would encourage people to sign up soon to take part in the event on the 4th August.”
Terry Hayes, Treasurer of Sligo Athletics Club said: ‘We are thrilled that For Goodness Shakes is supporting Sligo Athletics Club through our annual Streets of Sligo 5K Run. We want to encourage more people to get involved and this event is the perfect opportunity for all runners and walkers alike.
“We are looking forward to having the For Goodness Shakes team on-site at our 2018 event and are confident that the protein recovery products will help fatigue, muscle stiffness and soreness after the participants cross the finish line.”
