Colours rowing success for Leitrim's Thomas Earley

Carrick rower Thomas Earley continues to enjoy success on the water as he was a member of the victorious Senior UCD crew in the annual Colleges Colours match with Trinity College for the Gannon Cup.

Having won the National Championships Intermediate 8 title in a UCD boat, former Carrick Rowing Club member Thomas has moved up to the national senior ranks. The colours match is the Irish equivalent of the Boat Race with Novice, Inter and Senior races taking place during the day for the Mens and Ladies boats.

Rowing at seat five for UCD, the colours race took place from O'Connell Street Bridge to St. James' Gate and the competition has been competed for annually from 1947, UCD winning the 75th edition of the highly prestigious event.
