Connacht smartphone users are hungry for data spending a collective 130 thousand hours on their smartphones every day.
To celebrate its All You Can Eat Data offer, Three, Ireland’s largest high-speed network, conducted research that reveals Ireland’s smartphone owners are uploading, downloading, watching and listening more than ever. Three has equated daily time spent on Irish smartphones to streaming almost 350,000 movies on Netflix, uploading 40,000,000 ‘Selfies’ to Facebook or Instagram, streaming approximately 20,000,000 songs on Spotify, and watching almost 170,000 cat videos on YouTube. This combined data usage would equate to 212,320GB or 206.4TB every day.
The survey reveals that nearly half the population of Connacht now owns a smartphone with national ownership increasing by a massive 53% in just one year. The average Connachtite spends approximately 34 minutes on their smartphone every day. Nationally, Irish people are spending 300% more time online on their smartphones than they did just two years ago.
