We, the family of the late Sean O’Connor wish to thank most sincerely all who sympathised with us on our recent sad loss. To our neighbours, relatives and friends, and all who supported and comforted us in any way - thank you so much. We are very grateful to everybody who called to our home, who attended Sean’s funeral Mass and burial, and who travelled significant distances to be with us. Thank you to all for your Mass cards, letters, phone calls and messages.
We extend our sincere gratitude to Fr Tommy Towey and Fr John Carroll for your visits and presence with Sean through his illness. Many thanks to both of you together with Fr Barry Hogg for celebrating the very fitting funeral Mass, and to the Ballisodare church choir for their accompaniment. Our warmest thanks to our Sacristan Eugene Foley and to the grave diggers. We appreciate very much the guidance and assistance of the undertakers - Gerard Clarke & Sons at this difficult time.
We thank most kindly all the personnel who looked after Sean with such care, kindness, and dignity over the course of his illness, particularly Dr Donal Smyth, Dr Rizwan, Olivia O’Grady - Oncology Nurse Specialist, Dr Clyne, the Palliative Care Team, and all the staff in the Oncology day and in-patient wards, and the team in the emergency department in Sligo University Hospital. To the staff of Galway University Hospital and the Radiotherapy Department, and all those associated with the Cancer Care West Unit our heartfelt thanks. Our warm gratitude also to Fiola Murphy - Public Health Nurse and to Enda Lannon and staff in Ballisodare pharmacy for their input to Sean’s care. We acknowledge those who made contributions to the Sligo Hospital Oncology Unit As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our gratitude and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Months Mind Mass for Sean will be celebrated at 11.30am on Sunday 3rd July in Corhownagh Church, Ballisodare. May his gentle Soul be at Peace.
