Irish Water has not taken in charge Rossinver’s Waste Water Treatment Plant and no permanent solution has been found as yet according to Leitrim County Council.
The issue was brought up by Cllr Sean McDermott who said a “longterm solution is needed.” He said it is “supposed to be a public sewer” and it “services a lot of houses in the area.”
Leitrim County Council said it will “arrange to carry out de-sludging works at this facility in the near future pending a more permanent solution.”
Cllr Mary Bohan who previously brought up the issue said flooding had resulted in someone having to move out of their house last year, so she said it is “crucial” a solution is found. Cllr Justin Warnock said “the whole village should be connected.”
