A meeting was called arising from the original gathering of interested parties on the 1st July in Cryan’s, Carrick-on-Shannon.
At that meeting, people showed their support and interest in obtaining the old creamery in Kiltoghert and buildings from what was Connacht Gold and is now called Aurivo in the hope that it would be handed back to the farming community with the idea of restoration and museum, interpretive centre and exhibition area.
The following were elected: Chairperson: Padraig Gilbride, Vice Chair: John Flynn, Secretary: Maura Murphy, Assistant Sec Tom Padden, Joint Treasurers Jimmy Gralton and John Mc Grath, PRO: Vincent O Dowd & Assistant PRO Maura Murphy.
The Mission Statement of the group. To preserve and interpret the history of Kiltoghert Creamery and Co-Op, to collect and preserve the artefacts and information which pertains to all social, cultural and commercial history to the area and to display such artefacts as are required for exhibition purposes. We also have a facebook page called Friends of Kiltoghert.
We would welcome all the support we can get. If anyone wishes to contact Maura you can do so at 0872992449.
