Many tributes have been paid to Philomena Flynn in recent days on he retirement after half a century of service with Leitrim Co Council.
"Today, we say a heartfelt farewell to our colleague Philomena Flynn, who has retired after many years of dedicated service to Leitrim County Council," a council spokesperson said last week.
On Tuesday, her current and former work colleagues gathered to honour her remarkable service of 50 years and presented her with a token of appreciation.
"From all of us at Leitrim County Council, we wish Philomena endless happiness, good health, and exciting adventures in this next chapter of life!" the council said.
Tributes from former colleagues and those she helped in the council have been paid since on social media.
"It was a pleasure working with you and you'll be greatly missed in Leitrim Co Council," one tribute said.

Another noted the "fantastic achievement" of reaching 50 years of service while many wished her success and happiness in the next chapter of her life.
